Annual Departmental Symposium

The 2015/16 Annual Symposium of the Department of Molecular Medicine will take place on the 30th of April 2016 from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm at Collegio A Volta (17via A Ferrata). The Symposium will host 14 contributions, largely from young members of the Department Biochemistry from the Units/Division of Biochemistry, Clinical Biochemistry, Human Genetics, Cariolology and Haematology.  Topics will range from protein oligomerisation and its role in disease, genetic models of bone disease, the genetic basis of rare human diseases such hereditary haemorrhagic telengiectasia, early results from new exome sequencing projects, the mechanisms of chromosomal translocations and inversions, preclinical models of genetic heart disease, new therapies for heart disease, the role of non-coding RNAs in lung fbrosis and heart infarction, abnormal RNA splicing in myelodisplasias, myeloproliferative diseases and clinical studies on cardiac amyloidosis caused by amyloidogenic light chains.
